The even moss stitch is an excellent technique to introduce texture into a crochet project. It's ideal for creating blankets, scarves, dishcloths, or towels. This stitch is beginner-friendly, involving just two stitches and a single row repeat.

Materials:

Yarn

Crochet hook

Abbreviations (US Terms):

ch: chain

hdc: half double crochet

sl-st: slip stitch

st/sts: stitch/stitches












Instructions:

Chain an even number

Row 1: sl-st in the 2nd ch from the hook, *hdc in next ch, sl-st in next ch; repeat from * to the end. Turn.

Row 2: ch 1, sl-st in same st, *hdc in next st, sl-st in next st; repeat from * to the end. Turn.

Repeat row 2 until desired length.
