Crochet Block Stitch

The block stitch is a delightful and geometric crochet stitch that not only enhances your projects with its unique visual appeal but also invites you to unleash your creativity through color selection. This stitch is characterized by its distinct blocks that can be altered in various ways to achieve different patterns and designs. You may choose to maintain a single main color of yarn throughout your project, allowing for smaller, pops of contrasting color in between. Alternatively, for those who seek a more dynamic and colorful experience, you can opt to change out each row with a different hue, which is perfect for scrap yarn and stash busting projects.

The block stitch extends beyond just color; it also embraces the use of different yarn textures. Incorporating various types of yarn, such as fuzzy or eyelash yarn, can add depth and dimension to your work. The interplay between smooth and textured yarns can create a fascinating contrast that draws the eye and adds a tactile element to your projects.

Below you will find written instructions as well as a detailed step-by-step video tutorial that visually demonstrates the techniques involved in mastering this stitch.
