Materials:
Worsted weight yarn (yellow, black, pink, white)
Size F (3.75mm) crochet hook
10 mm plastic safety eyes
Polyester stuffing
Tapestry needle
Stitch marker to mark beginning/end of round
Abbreviations (US Terms)
dc: double crochet
dec: decrease (2 sc together)
hdc: half double crochet
inc: increase (2 in one stitch)
sc: single crochet
st/sts: stitch/stitches
Crochet Bee Instructions:
Body:
***Rounds are worked continuous without a slip stitch join. Use a stitch marker to mark the end of the round.
Start with yellow yarn
Round 1: 6 sc in magic ring [6]
Round 2: (inc) X 6 [12]Round 3: (sc in next st, inc) X 6 [18]
Round 4: (sc in next 2 sts, inc) X 6 [24]
Round 5: (sc in next 3 sts, inc) X 6 [30]
Round 6: (sc in next 4 sts, inc) X 6 [36]
Rounds 7-9; sc in all sts [36]
Place safety eyes between rounds 4 and 5, on either side of face 9 stitches apart
With pink yarn, stitch cheeks right under safety eyes, one stitch over.

Switch to black yarn
Rounds 10-11: sc in all sts [36]
Switch to yellow yarn
Rounds 12-13; sc in all sts [36]
Switch to black yarn
Rounds 14-15; sc in all sts [36]
Switch to yellow yarn
Rounds 16-18: sc in all sts [36]
Round 19: (sc in next 4 sts, dec) repeat 6 times [30]
Round 20: (sc in next 3 sts, dec) repeat 6 times [24]
Round 21: (sc in next 2 sts, dec) repeat 6 times [18]
Stuff body firmly and add more as needed in next rounds
Round 22: (sc in next st, dec) repeat 6 times [12]
Round 23 (dec) repeat 6 times [6]
Break yarn leaving a tail, sew through the front loops of each of the remaining stitches and pull leaving a little "stinger". Tie off and weave in end.
Wings (make 2)
Round 1: sc 6 in magic ring [6]
Round 2: (hdc inc) repeat 6 times [12]
Round 3: (dc in next st, dc inc) repeat 6 times [18]
Slip stitch into first stitch of round and break yarn, leaving a long tail for sewing.
Sew the wings to the center yellow stripe (rounds 12-13)
