Crochet Puff Flower Tutorial
These puff flowers make cute appliques or can be sewn together to make larger pieces.
Materials
Worsted weight yarn
5mm crochet hook
Tapestry Needle
Scissors
Abbreviations (US Terms):
ch: chain
puff st: puff stitch
sc: single crochet
sp: space
st: stitch
Special Stitches:
Puff Stitch: yarn over, insert the hook and pull up a long loop 5 times, (11 loops on the hook) yarn over and pull through all 11 loops, ch1 to close the top of the puff.
Instructions:
Make a magic circle or ch 4 and slip st into the first ch to form a ring
Round 1: ch1, 6 sc in ring, join with a sl st in top of first sc.
Round 2: *ch 2, puff in same st, ch 2, slip st in next st; repeat from * to end. Fasten off the yarn. Push the chain stitches to the back of each puff to form the petals.
Using a tapestry needle weave in all ends or sew them together.
